Learning Colours (Free Common and Advanced Colours Charts) – in English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada

We all want our children to be able to recognise the colours we see. It is the foundation to let children verbally describe the colours we see and also recognise the colours with ease.

To help children in learning their colours, today we are providing two worksheets – The Common Colours Worksheet and The Advanced Colours Worksheet, in 8 different languages – English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.

The Common Colours Worksheet

As the name suggests, this worksheet includes the most basic and common colours like red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and pink. This will help children in identifying these colours and they can start using them too. Download the sheet in 8 languages with the links given below.

The Advanced Colours Worksheet

This worksheet includes colours that are slightly more advanced but still can be grasped by the quick learner that your child is. In addition to the 6 colours in the Common Colours Worksheet, it includes 10 more colours.

Some activities that can help your child in learning colours

  1. Recite the names of the colours to your child. Then ask the child to point to a colour and say its name out loud.
  2. Use the colour’s objects as references to show them the colours in the actual sense.
  3. Ask your child to draw using different colours and recite their names.
  4. Have your child mould the colours in clay.
